An ambulatory surgery center (ASC) is a healthcare facility that specializes in providing same-day surgical procedures to patients who do not require an overnight hospital stay. These facilities are also known as outpatient surgery centers or same-day surgery centers.

ASCs provide a number of benefits to patients, including shorter wait times, lower costs, and reduced risk of infection due to the controlled environment. They also provide a more convenient and comfortable experience for patients, as they do not require an overnight stay in a hospital.

There are strict regulations for ASCs to ensure that they meet high standards of safety and quality of care. These regulations are set by state and federal authorities, and ASCs must undergo regular inspections and accreditation to maintain their certification.

Silver State Surgery Center has achieved Medicare and AAAHC accreditation, as well as offers 23 hour observation capabilities.

*Medicare accreditation is a designation given to healthcare facilities that meet certain quality standards set by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). This accreditation ensures that the facility is providing safe and effective care to patients enrolled in Medicare.

*AAAHC accreditation is a similar designation given by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). This accreditation is given to outpatient healthcare facilities, such as surgery centers and clinics, that meet certain quality standards.

*The offering of 23-hour observation means that a patient can be closely monitored in a healthcare facility for up to 23 hours before being discharged. This is often used for patients who require further observation or treatment after a procedure, but do not need to be admitted to the hospital.
